Resolution No. 40

TO ENCOURAGE THE FORMATION OF
MAHARISHI VEDIC CITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

May 4, 2003

On this auspicious Akshakya Tritiya Day, the Day of Lasting Achievement, the City Council hereby expresses through this resolution its support for the formation of Maharishi Vedic City Economic Development Corporation

The purpose of MVCEDC will be to work with businesses, developers, financial institutions, industries, and government to economically develop the City in accordance with the City’s mission of creating an ideal community and world peace based on the 40 aspects of Vedic knowledge, as brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Specific activities of MVCEDC will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Facilitate planning and development of the commercial and business areas of the city, including the downtown—City Center.
  • Attract businesses to locate in the community and maintain an inventory of, or identify, zoned land for business development.
  • Facilitate financing and grants for business and community projects.
  • Aid in securing grants and financing for new housing construction.
  • Attract developers to the community and work with developers on building in the City in accordance with the City’s master plan and the principles of Vedic Architecture—Maharishi Sthapatya Veda design.
  • Facilitate the development and financing of retirement communities in the City.
  • Such other activities as MVCEDC shall determine to carry out its purpose described above.
